The romantic getaway was a fabulous prize. My husband and I really enjoyed being in San Antonio over the Thanksgiving week-end. Seeing the lights and watching the parade from the beautiful Westin Hotel will be a special memory for us. All of the prizes contributed to a pleasurable time in the River City. The Dept. of Tourism and Texas Monthly are to be commended for the great package you put together.

I'm using money I had saved for my own vacation to fund this and pay off the credit card charge this month--my Dad and his new wife have been widowed for several years and they are very much in love! We made it to San Antonio and back. It was simply an awesome trip. We stayed at the Westin. It was positively gorgeous. We had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, a beautiful marble bathroom and a simply wonderful view of the riverwalk outside our private balcony. After seeing the other hotels, I was so happy that we were there. All of them were nice, but we especially liked the Westin. It was the best!

As per your suggestions, we covered many of the things we had talked about in our emails. We had dinner Saturday night at Boudro's. The food was delicious; the atmosphere was terrific. Sunday night we ate at the restaurant at la Mansion del Rio. It was very gourmet and very good. Sunday, we tried the traditional Mexican food at La Margarita--not as fancy (or as expensive), but a good experience.

We went to the missions on Tuesday, before we left. The Gray Line tour was well worth the price and we were glad to have seen all of them. I can see that the Mission San Jose would be a beautiful place for a wedding. We also attended mass at San Fernando Cathedral, as well as St. Mary's and St. Joseph's.

We also got to El Mercado and Rivercenter nearly everyday, took the boat ride down the riverwalk and walked the riverwalk frequently. The vacation was simply wonderful.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your advice. I printed your emails and took them along with me. There is nothing in the trip I would change.

Please forward my reply to your boss. You simply were outstanding. I was so thrilled each time I received an email from you with more information. Quite honestly, you had a significant part in making this trip so memorable.

We hope to be back to San Antonio again. Thank you so very much.

We planned a trip to San Antonio through TexasTourism for our anniversary. We had a very pleasant experience and lots of fun! Everything went as planned and arrangements made by TexasTourism were satisfactory in every way. We were so satisfied we've planned a return trip and will be bringing relatives to share the experience of San Antonio with us this time.

Bravo to the city of San Antonio! From the River Walk to the quality choices of Restaurants, to the great people, I would have to say the city planners have done well. It's the kind of city that can grow on me because it is not too large and not too small. It's as my mother would say, "it's just like I like my man...compact and not too small honey!"

Thanks to you, my wife simply fell in love with the hotel accommodations. Everything was perfect, well, with one exception. During the journey down the river, the weather turned cool Saturday evening, but that's not San Antonio's fault.

All in all, it's a grade B+. As Arnold Swasneger....or is it spelled, 'Swasnegar', oh forget it...you know who I'm referring to...as Arnold would say....I'LL BE BACK!
